ABOUT OUR WOOD MALLETS
Buy something that makes your life easier and you'll wonder what you did without it.
Our mallets, crafted from hard maple and styled for the modern home, offer everyday efficiency for customers previously unaware of this tool and its various uses.
A wood mallet is a simple yet effective tool. Freestanding, its base sits solidly on any flat surface, making its upright handle within easy reach. Wood mallets deliver a softened strike with a positive drive, unlike the weighted strike of a hammer mallet. Our wood mallets are made from hard maple.
(A woodworking tool can be home decor too!) Our wood mallets are thoughtfully designed to meet your needs. Astro, with its unique designs, makes striking additions to your kitchen countertop or as decorative accessories. On the other hand, our Calla mallets are sturdy workhorses perfect for wood crafting and culinary tasks. Base your mallet selections on your task, hand size, and the designs that speak to you.

They make great gifts for celebrations of all kinds, e.g., bridal showers. "Earthy, grounding, and meditative" are words our mallet reviewers used when examining and handling the different designs. Other descriptives include: "calming (in a sea of plastic kitchen gadgetry), sensuous ("I like holding it, feeling the warmth of the wood in my hand"), and "the organic leather and wood are simply beautiful to look at." Additionally, our mallets are collectible for recurring sales. We plan to introduce new designs in January 2025.

Pound meat only WITH AN IMPENETRABLE BARRIER like plastic or butcher paper. Direct contact with raw meat would result in unsanitary conditions, making the wood difficult to sanitize.
Yes, our products meet food safety standards established by the FDA, which are "safe for food contact surfaces." A clear-coat of Tried & True® Danish Oil is applied to all our products. All Tried & True® wood finishes are made of 100% renewable agricultural resources (no petroleum solvent thinners or metallic driers), making them safe for the planet and you.
Remove crumbs with a stiff brush, wipe clean with a damp cloth, or rinse with mild soap and water. Hand dry with a towel. Please visit Product Care to learn more.
CRAFTED WITH QUALITY
Yes! Buy something well-made a single time, and you'll use it forever. With proper care, you can hand down your mallets to future generations.
Mallets three inches and under in diameter are crafted from solid hard maple. Mallets over three inches in diameter are crafted from laminated blanks from hard maple offcuts that may otherwise be discarded. The boards are joined using food-safe, water-based glue during the lamination procedure. This process helps avoid warping and cracking that can happen with solid wood items (and helps the environment, too).
Since wooden mallets are used for crushing and striking, scarring and dinging may occur. The wood or leather may darken over time. This is considered normal and adds to the beauty of a distressed look—it's how you make them your own.
We design our mallet collections in Michigan. They're custom-crafted and hand-finished for us in Indiana.
GIVING BACK
We donate a percentage of our annual sales to Noah at Central in Detroit, MI, an organization that provides services to low-income and homeless individuals in Detroit. Furthermore, we give ad hoc donations supporting children's education activism in Traverse City, MI. Learn more.
SUSTAINABILITY
We craft our mallets using sustainably sourced hard maple and Tried & True® plant-based finishes, ensuring our materials are environmentally safe. Our mallets are 100% food-safe and entirely biodegradable.
We use Grainger shipping boxes, Kraft paper void fill (designated EPP, Environmentally Preferable Product), and EcoEnclose non-reinforced paper tape. Palletized orders are shipped strapped with metal bands. Our tags are printed on Mohawk Renewal recycled cotton papers using water-based inks; stringers are 100% cotton fiber from Maine Thread. Our print collateral (MOO) uses 100% post-consumer waste paper and water-based inks. All incoming shipments are requested to come to us plastic-free. We don't use secondary/display packaging.
